Ian Willoughby

We have been contacted (on 15th August) by John Smith with the following message:

I have today returned from Beauvais, after making a visit to the French military cemetary at Marrisal, it was a pesonal visit to the grave of my uncle John David Smith sergeant RAF gunner 635 sqdn killed 4/8/08 he lies beside the rest of the air crew, on my return home I thoght I would try to fing sqdn leader Bazalgettes grave at senantes,I was delighted to find his resting place and to see how well looked after and remembered he was . My visit to my uncles grave was extremly moving experience and when i read from the CWGC book of the sqdn leader being the only british serviceman in the cemetary i had to make the effort to visit. I hope that this will be passed on to any family members and toany other family members of the air crews killd during that particular raid.
